Sun International has appointed former Games Global exec Leslie Peters as its new chief technology and product officer (CTPO)
Peters left Games Global last month, where he spent three-and-a-half years with the supplier as its chief technology officer (CTO).
Before that, he spent just over 14 years with Dervico in several roles. First joining in December 2007 as senior prototype developer for game design, before working his way up to CTO in January 2017.
He also worked for TickTockGames and Three-B International Limited between September 2001 and December 2007.
Now with the South African land-based and online operator, Peters will be tasked with leading the “acceleration of operator’s digital and technological transformation”.
Johannesburg-listed Sun International runs its online arm Sunbet, land-based Urban Casinos and Sun Slots, and Sun Resorts and Hotels.
In H1 2025, Sunbet reported revenue of ZAR874m (£38.5m), up 70.7% year on year, while EBTDA jumped from ZAR166m to ZAR292m.
Ulrik Bengtsson, Sun International CEO, said: “We are focused on customer-centric and product-driven growth, powered by fit-for-purpose technology.
“Leslie’s appointment is a key step in delivering on this strategy and ensuring our technology and product platforms are aligned with our ambition to become a market-leading, digitally led omnichannel gaming company of scale.”
On moving to the operator, Peters added: “It is an honour to join such an iconic brand. I look forward to working with the executive team to shape the future of Sun International’s digital platforms and drive innovation that supports our strategic objectives.”
Peters joins Sun International just months after Bengtsson began his tenure with the firm.
