No Doubt has added six 2026 shows to their Sphere residency that the globular venue is calling its “final dates” there.
The Sphere claims No Doubt (Gwen Stefani, Adrian Young, Tony Kanal and Tom Dumont) have added the final six dates to their residency. (Image: Getty composite)Those dates are June 3, 5, 6, 10, 12 and 13.
The Sphere says the shows were added “in response to ongoing fan demand.” However, this is just a game the Sphere places to protect the fragile egos of some of its superstar headliners.
There is no doubt (sorry, couldn’t resist!) that the Sphere’s first millennial rock headliner — and one of the most popular acts of the ‘90s — could have sold out all 18 shows it will eventually play in the same week.
However, Sphere Entertainment CEO James Dolan does not want to risk offending slightly smaller headliners by offering any acts more initial on-sale dates than anyone else.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 12 noon PT on Friday, November 14 via Ticketmaster, with an artist presale starting at 12 noon PT Wednesday, November 12.
Wizard of Streams
Judy Garland appearing on the Sphere. The first official “Wizard of Oz” soundtrack album aims to massively boost Sphere Entertainment’s fourth quarter. (Image: Ethan Miller/Getty)“The Wizard of Oz at Sphere: The Soundtrack” is now available on digital platforms.
Why, 86 years later, is this a big deal?
Because the songs of “The Wizard of Oz” were never released as a collection (what oldsters used to call an album).
That’s because they were never recorded well enough. The 42 songs presented here were originally laid down with inferior sound equipment on a film soundstage.
Until now, that magical rendition of “Over the Rainbow” sung by Judy Garland in the movie could only be heard in the movie. A properly recorded studio version was released in 1939, after the movie’s success. But it featured different vocals and an unfamiliar arrangement.
What producers of the Sphere show did was isolate the vocals originally recorded for the film by Garland and the other actors, digitally enhance them, then set them against brand new performances by an 80-piece orchestra recorded (digitally this time) on the original MGM soundstage last year.
“We were able to bring every detail to life with unprecedented fidelity for a listening experience that is unmatched — both at Sphere and at home,” Carolyn Blackwood, head of Sphere Studios, said in a press release.
Jewel to Shine
A concert from Jewel will highlight the inaugural Not Alone Awards and Summit, set for November 10-12 at the Wynn.
Intended to shine a light on mental wellness, the ambitious event will be hosted by the “You Were Meant for Me” singer and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Also appearing will be Flavor Flav, Rachel Platten, Alec Benjamin, JP Saxe, Cassadee Pope, Bishop Briggs, Harry Hudson and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.
The show is closed to the public but will stream live on iHeartRadio’s YouTube channel.
