Superbet Group has appointed Borut Petek as the company’s new chief global affairs officer.
He will work closely with company CEO Sacha Dragic in his role with the operator’s C-suite.
Petek will continue to serve in his capacity as a board member and non-executive director for Croatian food retailer Fortenova Group.
Previously, Petek worked as founder and CEO of advisory firm Boston Advisors CEE from December 2020 onwards.
He also served as a strategic adviser for investment firm Spitzberg Partners between September 2020 and October 2024.
Petek gained political experience earlier on in his career, serving as adviser to the Prime Minister of Slovenia in two stints from December 2004 to December 2008 and again from February 2012 to March 2013.
Writing about his appointment on LinkedIn, Petek said: “Honoured to share that I’ve joined Superbet Group as chief global affairs officer, supporting our founder Sacha Dragic and working alongside truly exceptional and talented colleagues across the Superbet family worldwide.
“Superbet, backed by Blackstone, has evolved into one of the world’s fastest-growing entertainment and technology groups.
“I’m excited to lead our external affairs and government relations, strengthening how we operate in regulated markets into a real competitive advantage.”
In addition to the Superbet Group appointment, Petek announced that he had also joined Dragic’s investment firm Hellen’s Rock Capital as a partner.
He added: “I’m also proud to join Hellen’s Rock Capital, Sacha’s single family office, as partner, contributing to its broader investment and entrepreneurial journey – for one of the most inspiring founders I’ve ever met.”
Petek’s appointment represents the latest addition to Superbet Group’s C-suite, following the onboarding of Josephine Hus as chief transformation officer back in May.
At the same time, Tudor Filipescu was appointed as chief of staff within the CEO office.
The company also opened its new Polish headquarters in Warsaw during the same month.
