Less than a week after firing Sam Ponder, ESPN has found her successor on ‘Sunday NFL Countdown.’

Network workhorse Mike Greenberg will take over Ponder’s role on NFL Sundays, the network said.

Greenberg and ‘NFL Live’ host Laura Rutledge had widely been seen as the two contenders for the open role. Greenberg already does several daytime radio and TV jobs for the network, including hosting ‘Get Up’ on weekday mornings.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
